Lessons learned and Pete on TV

I had a wonderful weekend this past weekend with Mrs. Planner. I learned two very important lessons. First and foremost, I learned that it is possible to think rationally when spending a significant amount of money. And secondly, I learned that if you inadvertently run over a can of spray paint, it will explode and spray paint your bumper white.
First, the money. Mrs. Planner and I are planning some significant yard work for this coming fall. We have a number of projects that we would like to do, but it just wouldn't be smart to do them all at once. Don't get me wrong, I would love for the whole thing to be done at once, but it just doesn't make financial sense. In fact, we have started to view this as a test of our patience. I am really looking forward to spending money in a planned out manner.
Second, the spray paint. I did learn that a can of spray paint will explode under the weight of a four-door sedan. It will spray paint into the air, and it will stick to your bumper. Your wife will laugh, and you will get mad at yourself for not seeing the can.
I will be appearing on the news tomorrow at Noon on WISH-TV News 8. Set your TiVo or your VCR to record.
