Paging Gary Coleman

The most colorful newspaper in the land (USA Today) has a great article today about the importance of being tall in the business world. The article suggests that high power executives use their height to intimidate their adversaries and their subordinates. The article goes on to say that people jam their walls with degrees and diplomas in order to appear smarter than their colleagues.
It appears that I will never succeed. I am barely 5'10" (thanks Mom and Dad). I often threatened my father with litigation if I didn't reach 6 feet tall. I was concerned for athletic reasons. Little did I know that my lack of height would ruin my business career. As for the walls in my office, no diplomas. I have a diploma, but I have no idea where it is. I have a picture on my wall that was painted by a local beatnik. I wish that Cal Ewing, patron saint of high school economics and business, would have told me that I needed to wear lifts in my shoes to succeed.
In conclusion (a phrase often used to end bad high school research papers), this article makes me embarrassed to be in the business world. It's enough that the nation's athletes are juiced up on growth hormones, now I have to worry about the CEOs being juiced.
Does height equal power? Some CEOs say yes.(USA Today) 07/18/07
