It's transfer $100 day

I love holidays, especially Hallmark holidays. There is some lame holiday named Sweetest Day that falls on the third Saturday in October. It is a Valentines wannabe sorta holiday. It's the type of holiday that if your wife gets you a Sweetest Day card, and you don't get her one you may see some couch time. I don't like couch time, and I'm sure you don't either. In absolute disrespect of Sweetest Day, I have decided to declare today a holiday.

Today is "Transfer $100 day". Here is how it works. After you read this blog, log onto your online banking account and transfer $100 to your savings account from your checking account. I will be doing the same thing. Many times people don't save money because it just doesn't occur to them. Well, I have forced it to occur to you. You won't miss the $100. In fact, you will see it again later. Don't try to think of reasons why you aren't going to do it. Many financial goals are never met because the excuse train enters the station. Yes, I'm yelling at you (the way Ward Cleaver yelled at the Beav). If you somehow get addicted to this holiday, then great. Continue to save money. Setup an auto-withdrawal out of your checking into your savings every month.

After you transfer your 100 bones, email me to tell me. I am going to be stuck with Clay Aiken this weekend, so I need something to smile about. Drop me an email pete@petetheplanner.com .
